Taken at the Seenachtsfest in Konstanz/ Kreuzlingen at the Swiss/ German border.
Once a year both sides of this huge lake hold a huge street party kind of thing, with lots of stands and bands and people getting drunk and trying their best not to fall into the water. It all culminates in a huge firework, first by the Swiss, and then the German side, both trying to outdo each other, with bigger bangs, more vibrant colours, cheesier music...
This here is a little dingy floating on the lake with two people on board, who weren't too keen on social interaction.
I thought the image made for a great contrast: the two shapes sitting in their tiny boat, quite possibly sipping wine and huddled up in a blanket looking up and watching the sky explode in all colours of the rainbow.
I refuse to go the way of seeing this as the sea of blood type thing, thats just lame...
it does look weird, eh? thats the part of the water thats closest to the land. guess the waves look different there. tried cropping it, but that didn't look so great...
hehe... i dunno... i was thinking of a title that combines the calmness of the two floating along in their boat and at the same time the sky exploding above their heads... and then i thought of a rage against the machine track called calm like a bomb... and since i'm bad with titles...
glad you like the colour - and its all natural, too!

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
